Penang symbolizes FOOD

well, i went to penang sometime ago, ya, really some time ago cause' lazy to blog haha. so i flew to penang WEE~ FLY~ see the clouds!

First stop SNAKE temple and there are real snakes everywhere all venomous snakes bought this epic shirt there but it's kinda small. my bro is so so so... don't even dare to touch the snake's skin and shouted when he approaches the snake. can you be more like a boy?? garrhh. The heritge houses are so beautiful, over 100 years of history WOW. And people still live in those houses!

Food was great at a stall shop in Lorong Selamat. That's the place for the so famous kuey teow with THREE HUGE prawns (RM6.50). the chao lobak was nice too, dip it with the sweet mushroom paste or savouring sweet chili paste, it tastes better with both!

chao lobak

see that big prawn? costed me rm 1 for each.

NAKED SKINNED SQUIDS !!!

As i did some touring, i caught sight of a few oldies sitting in the corners of shop houses, locksmiths, gobblers, as i said, mostly the older generation. There was an old lady selling drinks at the roadside and suddenly she fell, hitting hard on the ground OUCH! The scene was very heart wrenching if only i could help that shoeless old lady but the car moved on......
keys for sell ~ zzz....

trishaw old man, took this from the car
So you see, heong peng is a MUST buy if you just happened to be in Penang. The queue was super long(WHAT?? queuing just to buy dao sa peng??? LOL) normally KL earthlings like us would only queue for Chatime and delicious cold titbits. But this?! As it's hot, fresh from the oven, i quickly popped it inside my mouth and OH! It's warm n the skin is cripsy unlike the cold n soft ones i usually ate. So lesson is, EAT IT HOT! yea HOT!

PARK no.1

BEACH! urm but we just did the walking that's all. we sneaked into the back door of the rasa sayang hotel which has a sign there saying: no outsiders. HAHAHA hey we are outsiders. (rasa sayang hotel is a very luxury and expensive hotel)
3 layers of Earth. Sky, Ocean, Land.

IF U GO TO PENANG GO TO NOTHAM SOMETHING FOODCOURT AND GO TO THE FIRST STALL ON YOUR LEFT WHICH SELLS ITALIAN CUISINE AND ORDER THIS CREPE AND EAT IT! IT'S HEAVEN! YES! (layers of thin egg- soft crepe filled with  cream of your own choice ; peach, durian, cempedak, mocha, bluberry) DURIAN highly recommended. It's just too awesome! Ate two in one night (Oh my, I'm getting fat eating all this yummy food)

A memorial place to remember those who sacrificed when the Japanese bombed the Chinese Malaysians when they are helping to transport food to the Chinese military to defeat Japan. The Japanese then spotted them and bombed them. (got it from my parents.)

Saw this loving uncle auntie couple. The guy is clutching on his wife's waist to make sure she don't fall down. Aww~ so sweet. Loving husband and wife ><

Just happened to stop by an art gallery and saw this W.O.W palm leave creation. Maybe those are palm oil shells. hahaha ><

We learnt about buah pala in form Sejarah anf now i got to look at it for the first time. The juice is is 100 plus with buah pala sweet syrup. The jam is awesome too. Sweet and tender. The funniest thing that ever happened in Penang is right here! There's a fighting chicken at the buah pala factory. My mum's friend went to shoo it off, without knowing it would peck people and chase them. Then the chicken came closer and closer and ATTACK the woman. Her husband then use his slipper and SLAPPED the chicken (you should really see that). The chicken then tried to peck at him but he slapped it again OUCH! There's a long chase and guess what? The chicken WON. BOO CHICKEN.

uncle: hey chicken.. enemy

so bored so i drew this at the house we are spending our night
On the last day, we went to Queensbay Mall and ate this SO AWESOME SOYA ICE-CREAM at Q bean. There's one outlet in IOI Mall, so try to have this next time! so YUMMY!! 100 times better than Mcdonald's ice cream. Soft and full with soya chillness. (way better than Snowflake's soya ice too)
